IXL math answers for algebra 1, algebra 2, geometry and trigonometry
Canvas Quiz Solver shows IXL math answers on the page, under each question: fill-in boxes, symbol pad answers, tiles and graphs. You type or pick the answer and press Submit yourself. Below the setup, the skills students search most each get a worked method on a made-up question. For students 13 and older.
There is no IXL math answer key that matches your question, because IXL generates a new question each time. Canvas Quiz Solver reads the question on your screen and shows the answer under it, for algebra 1, algebra 2, geometry, trigonometry and the other IXL math skills. For graphs it says what to draw. You enter and submit every answer yourself.
Works
- Fill-in boxes, one or many
- Symbol pad answers: roots, fractions, exponents
- Fractions and mixed numbers
- One-choice and select-all tiles
- Graphs and number lines: it says what to draw
You type or pick the answer and submit it yourself.
Stays off
- The IXL Diagnostic
- Pages outside skill practice
- Proctored pages: LockDown Browser, Respondus Monitor, Proctorio, Honorlock
It gets around nothing, and it never submits for you.
How it works on IXL math
Three steps, and you stay the one who answers.
- Add Canvas Quiz Solver to Chrome. It is free to add, and you get free answers to try it on a real question.
- Open your IXL math skill and click the toolbar icon once. Answers turn on in that tab at once. Tap "Keep it on for this site" in the popup so it stays on next time.
- Click the small icon under the question. The answer shows right there. Type it or pick it, then press Submit yourself. With discreet mode off in the popup, you get a Get Answer button instead.
The honest limits: the extension does not type into IXL or press Submit. It is off on proctored pages and on the IXL Diagnostic. Answers come from AI and can be wrong, so read each one, and no SmartScore is promised.
Why there is no IXL math answer key
IXL makes the question when you open it, so every student gets different numbers.
IXL's help center says it has "unlimited computer-generated questions" across more than 17,000 skills (IXL: How many questions are there?). Each new question in a skill comes with new values. That is why the "IXL geometry answer key" and "IXL algebra 1 answer key" PDFs in search results never match: they solve a question someone else got.
Skill codes do not help either. A code like H.1 names a different skill in each grade. What does carry over is the method. The sections below show one for each of the skills students search most, with made-up numbers, and the extension reads your question with your numbers.
IXL algebra 1 answers
Most algebra 1 skills come down to two moves: solve a linear equation, and write the equation of a line.
To solve, clear parentheses with the distributive property, collect the x terms on one side and the numbers on the other, then divide. Check by putting the answer back into the first equation.
For a line through two points, find the slope m = (y2 − y1) / (x2 − x1), then put one point into y − y1 = m(x − x1) and solve for y.
Solve for x: 5(x − 2) = 3x + 8.
Check: 5(9 − 2) = 35 and 3(9) + 8 = 35.
Write the equation of the line through (2, 1) and (6, 9) in slope-intercept form.
Check with the other point: 2(6) − 3 = 9.
Common input mistake: typing the slope as a decimal when IXL wants a fraction. If the slope is 2/3, enter 2/3, not 0.67.
IXL algebra 2 answers
Algebra 2 skills lean on factoring, the quadratic formula and the rules for exponents and logarithms.
For a quadratic, set it equal to 0 first. Try to factor: find two numbers that multiply to c and add to b. If none work, use x = (−b ± √(b2 − 4ac)) / 2a.
For an exponential equation, write both sides as powers of the same base, then set the exponents equal. A logarithm asks "what power?": log3 81 = 4 because 34 = 81.
Solve x2 − 5x − 14 = 0.
Enter both solutions if IXL gives two boxes; the order usually does not matter, but read the instructions.
Solve 2x + 1 = 32.
If the bases do not match, take a logarithm of both sides instead.
Common input mistake: losing the minus sign when you move a term. In x2 − 5x − 14, the constant is −14, not 14.
IXL geometry answers
The geometry skills searched most are area of compound figures, special right triangles and angles made by a transversal.
Compound figures: split the shape into rectangles, triangles and circle parts, find each area, and add. Subtract the area of any hole. Keep π in the answer unless IXL asks you to round.
Special right triangles: in a 45-45-90 triangle the hypotenuse is the leg times √2. In a 30-60-90 triangle the hypotenuse is twice the short leg, and the long leg is the short leg times √3.
Transversals: when a line crosses two parallel lines, corresponding angles and alternate interior angles are equal, and same-side interior angles add to 180°.
A shape is an 8 cm by 5 cm rectangle with a half circle on one 8 cm side. Find its area. Round to the nearest hundredth.
The radius is half of the 8 cm side, not 8.
The hypotenuse of a 30-60-90 triangle is 14. Find both legs. Leave roots in simplest form.
The long leg is across from the 60° angle.
Two parallel lines are cut by a transversal. Corresponding angles measure (3x + 10)° and (5x − 30)°. Find x and the angle.
A same-side interior angle to it would be 180° − 70° = 110°.
Common input mistake: entering 7√3 as a decimal when IXL asks for simplest radical form. Keep the root: 7√3, not 12.12.
IXL trigonometry answers
Right triangle trig is SOH CAH TOA: pick the ratio that uses the side you have and the side you want.
sin θ = opposite / hypotenuse, cos θ = adjacent / hypotenuse, tan θ = opposite / adjacent. To find a side, multiply or divide. To find an angle, use the inverse: θ = tan−1(opposite / adjacent).
Set your calculator to degrees unless the skill uses radians, and round only at the end.
In a right triangle, one angle is 35° and the hypotenuse is 12. Find the side opposite the 35° angle, to the nearest hundredth.
Opposite and hypotenuse means sine.
The legs of a right triangle are 7 (opposite angle A) and 10 (adjacent to angle A). Find angle A, to the nearest tenth of a degree.
A calculator in radian mode would give 0.61, which is the same angle in radians.
Common input mistake: rounding the ratio before the last step. Keep the full value of sin 35° until the end.
How the card shows graph answers
IXL graph questions ask you to plot. The card tells you what to plot; you click the points.
For a line, it gives two points the line passes through. For a parabola or another curve, it gives the key points. For a number line, it gives each endpoint, whether the circle is open or closed, and which way to shade. If the question also has boxes to fill, the card answers the boxes first, in order.
Graph y = 2x − 3. Then graph x ≥ −2 on a number line.
≥ and ≤ get a closed circle; > and < get an open one.
Where it stays off
It reads IXL practice skills, and it is off on proctored pages.
It works on math practice pages on ixl.com, and on the language arts, science, social studies and Spanish skills too. The IXL Diagnostic and pages outside skill practice get nothing. When a page carries LockDown Browser, Respondus Monitor, Proctorio or Honorlock, the extension turns off and gets around nothing.
Why one miss can cost so much near the end of a skill is in IXL SmartScore explained, and what your teacher sees in the Questions Log is in how to cheat on IXL, and what teachers see. On a site we do not read yet? Snap the question.

IXL math answers: common questions
Is there an IXL math answer key?
Not one that matches your question. IXL says its questions are unlimited and computer-generated, so a posted key or PDF answers someone else's numbers. The methods on this page work with any numbers, and the extension reads the question on your screen.
Does it show answers for IXL algebra 2 and trigonometry?
Yes. It reads the IXL math question on the page, including fill-in boxes, symbol pad answers, tiles and graphs, in algebra 1, algebra 2, geometry, trigonometry and the other math skills on ixl.com.
Does it type the answer into IXL?
No. The answer shows under the question. You type it into the box or pick the tile and press Submit yourself. Nothing is clicked, typed or submitted for you.
What about IXL graphing questions?
For a graph the card says what to draw: the points to plot, two points on the line, or the endpoints and shading on a number line. You draw it with the IXL graph tool.
Does it work on the IXL Diagnostic?
No. It reads practice skills only. The Diagnostic and pages outside skill practice get nothing, and it stays off on proctored pages.
Is it free?
You get free answers to try it on a real IXL question. Unlimited answers are $14.99 a month, or $48.99 for a 4-month semester plan.
