Edpuzzle hacks, sorted by what they ask of you
Search "Edpuzzle hack" and you get four kinds of result: code snippets that change the video speed, Reddit threads about skipping, answer bookmarklets and scripts on GitHub, and extensions in the Chrome Web Store. The first three ask you to run code on a page you are signed in on, and they can break when Edpuzzle changes. An extension that only shows the answer asks for one click.
- Speed and skip snippets work against a setting your teacher picked. We give no steps for them.
- Reddit skip threads are mostly about the "prevent skipping" setting, which is your teacher's call.
- Bookmarklets and console scripts run code you may not be able to read, and break when the site changes.
- Extensions install from the Chrome Web Store. Check what each one does on the page.
- A show-only extension never ticks, types or submits, and does not touch the video.
Our pickCanvas Quiz Solver shows the answer under each Edpuzzle question that stops the video. You tick or type the answer and submit it yourself. It does not skip or speed up the video.
What you find when you search "Edpuzzle hack"
The word "hack" covers very different things on Edpuzzle. Some are about the video: making it play faster or letting you jump ahead. Some are about the questions: finding the answer. And some are tools you install, not code you paste. They ask very different things of you.
This guide describes each kind honestly: what it is, what it asks of you, and what happens when the site changes. We do not name, link or rate any specific script, and we give no steps to run one or to get past a teacher setting. If you only want the answer under each question, see our Edpuzzle answers page.
| Kind of hack | What it asks of you | When Edpuzzle changes |
|---|---|---|
| Speed and skip snippets (code gists) | Open the browser console and paste code that changes the video player, against a setting your teacher chose. | Can stop working until someone updates it. |
| Reddit skip threads | Reading tips from strangers about a teacher setting. Many point back to the snippets above. | Old threads age fast. |
| Answer bookmarklets and console scripts | Save code as a bookmark or paste it into the console, then run it on the lesson page while you are signed in. | Can stop working until someone updates it. |
| Chrome Web Store extensions | Install from the store and accept its permissions. What it does on the page varies by extension. | The developer ships an update through the store. |
| Answer shown on the question card (Canvas Quiz Solver) | One click on the extension icon. No code. You read the answer and tick or type it yourself. | We update the extension; it reaches you through the store. |

Speed and skip snippets
The top "Edpuzzle hack" results include short code snippets, often shared as gists, that claim to change how fast the video plays or let you jump ahead. They ask you to open the browser's developer tools and paste code into the console.
Two things to know. First, skipping and speed are about a lesson your teacher set up, often with "prevent skipping" turned on. That is your teacher's call, and this guide gives no way around it. Second, any code you paste into the console runs on a page where you are signed in, so it can do anything that page can do. Only run code you can read and trust.
Canvas Quiz Solver is not this kind of tool. It does not skip the video, change the speed, mark the video as watched or remove "prevent skipping".
Reddit skip threads
Searches like "how to skip Edpuzzle videos" lead to Reddit threads where students ask how to get past "prevent skipping". The replies are a mix of snippets, browser tips and jokes, and old threads age fast.
The honest answer to those threads is short: skipping is a setting your teacher controls. If a video is a real problem for you, ask your teacher; they decide how the lesson is set up.
Answer bookmarklets and console scripts
On GitHub you find bookmarklets and scripts that claim to show Edpuzzle answers. A bookmarklet is a bookmark that holds code instead of a web address. You click it on the lesson page and the code runs there.
- It runs on a page you are signed in on. A bookmarklet or console script can read and change that page. If you cannot read the code, you cannot know what else it does.
- It depends on how the site is built. When Edpuzzle changes its page, a script written for the old page can fail until someone updates it, often right before your lesson is due.
- It is another thing to set up. Some ask you to install a userscript manager first, then the script inside it.
Extensions in the Chrome Web Store
Some Edpuzzle hack results are extensions. They install like any Chrome extension, with no code from you, and updates come through the store. That is easier than a script, but what each one does on the page varies. Before you add one, check whether it clicks, types or submits for you, and whether it touches the video.
Here is where Canvas Quiz Solver fits. It is an extension that only shows the answer. It never ticks a choice, never types and never submits, and it does not touch the video player.
Where a show-only extension fits
Every hack above changes the page with code, or depends on code you did not write. Canvas Quiz Solver does neither. It reads the Edpuzzle question on your screen when the video stops and shows the answer right under it, and you stay the one who answers.
How it works on Edpuzzle, in 3 steps:
- Add Canvas Quiz Solver to Chrome on your laptop. It is the same extension Canvas students use.
- Open your lesson on edpuzzle.com and click the extension's toolbar icon once. Answers turn on in that tab.
- When the video stops on a question, read the answer under it, then tick or type it yourself and press Submit.
No code to paste. It does not skip or speed up the video, and it ticks, types and submits nothing.
- Multiple choice: the answer under the question; "select 2" questions get both.
- Open-ended: a written answer you read and type in yourself.
- Pictures in the question are read too.
- No second tab. The answer is in the tab you are already in.
Answers come from AI and can be wrong, so check the ones that count. It is the same account and plan as on Canvas, Wayground (formerly Quizizz), IXL and McGraw Hill: free answers to try, then $14.99 a month or $48.99 for a 4-month semester. New to it? Common questions
Is there an Edpuzzle hack that works?
It depends on what you want. Scripts and bookmarklets change the page with code, and they can stop working when Edpuzzle changes. An extension that only shows the answer under the question does not change the page at all.
Is there an Edpuzzle answers hack?
Canvas Quiz Solver shows the answer under each Edpuzzle question that stops the video: multiple choice, "select 2" and open-ended. You tick or type the answer and press Submit yourself.
Can a hack skip Edpuzzle videos or change the speed?
Whether you can skip is your teacher's setting, and this guide gives no way around it. Canvas Quiz Solver does not skip the video, change the speed, mark it as watched or remove "prevent skipping".
Are Edpuzzle bookmarklets safe?
A bookmarklet runs code on the page you are signed in on. Only run code you can read and trust. If you cannot tell what it does, do not run it.
Why do Edpuzzle scripts stop working?
Scripts depend on how the site is built. When Edpuzzle changes its page, a script written for the old page can fail until someone updates it.
Is an Edpuzzle extension better than a script?
An extension installs from the Chrome Web Store and needs no code from you. Check what it does: Canvas Quiz Solver only shows answers, and never ticks, types or submits anything.
