What you can do free

Three free routes come up when students look for a free Canvas quiz solver. Each one is real, and each one has a limit.

Canvas Quiz Loader: free, retakes only

Canvas Quiz Loader is a free Chrome extension that will, in its store listing's words, "automatically load correct answers from previous quiz attempts". There is no AI in it. On a first attempt it has nothing to copy, and on a retake the results of your earlier attempt must be visible to you. The full breakdown is in Canvas Quiz Loader vs Canvas Quiz Solver.

ChatGPT's free plan in a second tab

ChatGPT has a free plan, and it can answer a question you have never seen. The cost is where it lives: in another tab. Instructure's quiz log guide says "Stopped viewing the Canvas quiz-taking page" displays when a student opens a new browser tab, and Resumed when you return, each with a time. The log never names ChatGPT, but every question you copy over leaves a gap before the answer. The New Quizzes Moderate page log also shows "moments of stopping and resuming the quiz". More in whether Canvas detects ChatGPT.

Canvas Quiz Solver: free to install

Our extension is free to install, and you can start free on a real quiz before you pay anything. It reads the question itself, so it works on a first attempt, and it puts the answer right below the question, inside the Canvas quiz page. No second tab, no copying into ChatGPT. It works on Classic Quizzes and New Quizzes.

Where free stops

The free routes stop in four places:

  • First attempts. A quiz you have never taken gives Quiz Loader nothing to copy. Whether you get a retake at all is your instructor's setting.
  • Hidden results. If your instructor does not show results after an attempt, the earlier submission tells Quiz Loader nothing.
  • Leaving the page. A free AI chat lives outside Canvas, and every trip to it is a focus change the quiz log can record.
  • Time. Copy, switch, paste, read, switch back. Instructure says timed quizzes "do not pause if the student navigates away from the quiz".

Canvas Hack: $24.99 a month or $149.99 lifetime

Canvas Hack (canvashack.com) sells a monthly plan at $24.99 and a lifetime license at $149.99 (checked 2026-09-25). It does a different job: it says it stops Canvas from logging when you leave the quiz tab. Its own FAQ answers "Can it give me answers directly?" with "Not yet". See Canvas Hack vs Canvas Quiz Solver.

Looking for a free Canvas Hack extension? Canvas Hack Extension (canvasquizhack.com) is not the Canvas Hack sold on canvashack.com. It is our second brand of Canvas Quiz Solver, and you can start it free too.

Canvas Quiz Solver: $9.99 a month

One plan, $9.99 a month, cancel any time. You try it free first, on your own quiz.

Canvas Quiz Solver Start free Yes Yes, right below the question $9.99/month

Canvas Quiz Solver: answers inside the quiz page

Free tools make you choose: retakes only, or a second tab. Canvas Quiz Solver brings the answer to the question:

  1. Add Canvas Quiz Solver to Chrome from the Chrome Web Store.
  2. Open your Canvas quiz as usual. A Get Answer button appears on each question.
  3. Click it. The answer appears right below the question, inside the Canvas quiz page.

It reads multiple choice, short answer, matching, essay, ordering and more, on Classic Quizzes and New Quizzes. The answers come from AI, so they can be wrong: read each one before you pick it. It runs in Chrome on a computer, not inside LockDown Browser. For the other methods students use, read every method, and what the quiz log sees.
